Parent-Teacher Council To Host Mentoring Meeting

"Sometimes even a minimal amount of effort can have a profound effect. We all lead busy lives, but if you’re looking for a way to make a real difference in the life of a child, you may want to consider becoming a mentor.
January is National Mentoring Month. Under the direction of Carol Wilkas, School-to-Career Coordinator for the West Hartford Public Schools, the mentoring program is alive and well. Wilkas has chaired the program since 2003, and credits it with making a significant difference in the lives of many West Hartford students. However, although 100 people currently volunteer as mentors, there is a waiting list of many additional students, in grades K-12, who could benefit from this type of positive relationship."
