"Dr. Jewel Mullen, commissioner of the state Department of Health, visited Fox CT’s Morning Extra to talk about concerns about binge drinking that crop up during the summer.
According to a survey by the state, 22 percent of high school students reported binge drinking (five or more drinks in a row) in the past 30 days. For adults, 17.5 percent reported binge drinking in the past 30 days. Dangers of heavy drinking include vomiting, alcohol overdose and impaired judgment that may lead to people engaging in other risky behaviors including unprotected or unwanted sexual activity."
